Sneak past
the paywall.

Every free tier for AI APIs and GPU compute worth claiming — with the numbers the landing pages leave out. The real quota, the rate limit that actually bites, and whether they want your card.

Provider Free quota Rate limit Card? Expires Best for

How to pick

Skip the comparison paralysis. Start from what you're building.

Why free tiers quietly expire

Providers publish a generous free tier to win developers, then quietly cut it once the growth target is met. The number on the pricing page is often the number from launch day — not the number you’ll actually hit today.

Three corrections from our most recent pass. All three are still circulating as current advice:

  • GitHub Models was fully retired on 30 July 2026 — and is still the first thing most searches return.
  • Cerebras ended its no-card allowance. It is now a $5 trial that needs a verified payment method and expires in 30 days.
  • Kaggle never published a weekly GPU quota. The widely-cited “30 hours a week” belongs to paid Colab plans.

So every entry here is stamped with the date it was last verified, and that date links to the page we read. If a quota changed, it gets corrected. If a tier got killed, it comes off the list rather than being left to rot.

One rule we hold to: if we couldn't confirm a number on an official page, we print unknown instead of guessing. A directory you can't trust is worse than no directory.
